The 75th Berlin International Film Festival will open on the 13th (local time). This year, seven Korean films have been invited.

Among them, Bong Joon-ho's Hollywood sci-fi film 'Mickey 17' is receiving the most attention as a major highlight. This is the first time in 11 years that a film by Director Bong has been screened in Berlin since 'Snowpiercer' (Forum section) in 2014. 'Mickey 17' has been invited to the non-competitive section Berlinale Special Gala and will be screened on the 15th.

Although it is not in the competition section, the film is attracting even more attention than the invited films in the competition section, as it is Bong's next work following his Oscar-winning 'Parasite' (2019) and stars top actor Robert Pattinson.

Director Hong Sang-soo, beloved in Berlin, is competing with his 33rd feature film 'What Does the Nature Say to You'. It will premiere on the 20th.

The film tells the story of a day in the life of a poet in his 30s visiting his girlfriend's parents' mansion for the first time, with his partner Kim Min-hee participating as the production manager.

Since making his debut in 1997 with 'The Day a Pig Fell into the Well', Director Hong has screened a total of 12 works at this film festival. He has been invited for six consecutive years since 2020 and has received honors for 'Alone on the Night Beach' (Best Actress for Kim Min-hee), 'The Woman Who Ran' (Best Director), 'Introduction' (Best Screenplay), and 'The Novelist's Film' and 'The Need for Travelers' (Jury Prize). There is also interest in whether the pregnant Kim Min-hee will attend with Director Hong.

Director Min Kyu-dong's 'The Breakup' has been invited to the Berlin Special section and will meet the audience on the 16th. Lee Hye-young transforms into a 60s killer being chased by a young male killer (played by Kim Sung-cheol), marking the first invitation in 40 years since being invited for Hwang Myung-jung's 'The Scorching Sun' (1985).

Director Kang Mi-ja's 'Spring Night', starring Han Ye-ri, and Director Kim Mu-young's documentary 'The Sensation of Violence' have been invited to the Forum section. Director Lee Jang-wook's 'Chang-gyeong' and Director Cha Jae-min's 'Photosynthesis of Death' have advanced to the Forum Expanded section.
