The fierce battle of men aiming for the MBN Taegeuk mark in ‘Current King of Singers 2’ is gaining popularity as the seasoned singers fight for honor and pride. The 10th episode, consisting of the semifinals round ‘1-on-1 Genre Battle’, achieved a peak rating of 13.8% and a nationwide rating of 12.8%, proving its upward trend by breaking its own highest viewership record.
In the 11th episode airing on the afternoon of the 11th, Park Seo-jin, Jin Hae-sung, and Enok, who ranked 13th, 8th, and 9th respectively in the semifinals round ‘1-on-1 Genre Battle’, will deploy their secret weapons to break free from their precarious current rankings, raising expectations.
Park Seo-jin, who was shocked to rank 13th out of 14 in the first round ‘1-on-1 Genre Battle’, expresses his burden by saying, “I absolutely cannot go up through the loser’s revival round. I feel like the obsession that I will be branded is getting too intense.” He shows a particularly tense demeanor, sighing right before stepping onto the stage, worrying everyone.
Jin Hae-sung, who ranked 8th in the first round, chooses a life song he had saved for the semifinals round, thinking it might be his last chance. However, he reveals that the song he selected has been difficult for him to sing since he developed vocal cord nodules, making him fearful of performing it. Moreover, he showed signs of frustration during practice when he struggled with high notes. It raises curiosity about whether he can overcome the high note trauma that has troubled him and what life song he desperately wants to sing.
Enok, precariously positioned at 9th place in the first round, shares his concerns, saying, “There’s a lot of pressure to do something new,” which adds to the tension. However, before taking the stage, he resolves, “I will treat this as my last performance and give it my all.”
Enok receives applause for transforming the atmosphere of his existing song with a dazzling chair dance and solo performance, but he also hears the critique, “It might become boring.” The fate of Enok is drawing attention.
The production team announced, “Since Park Seo-jin, Jin Hae-sung, and Enok are in precarious rankings where they could easily be eliminated, they are putting their lives on the line in the 2nd round ‘Final Battle’ with 860 points at stake.”
