Netflix is set to bring cheerful laughter this year with its daily variety shows. There will be a total of five shows featuring diverse genres and themes, including talk shows, character variety, club explorations, and gourmet travels.
On the 3rd, Netflix announced, “Each show will have a light-hearted duration of under 30 minutes, providing strong entertainment,” adding, “With no fixed episodes, we will offer fresh enjoyment throughout the year with new formats and guests every week.”
Starting on the 22nd, the cooking talk show ‘Subjective Restaurant’ will be released every Saturday. ‘Subjective Restaurant’ features Choi Kang-rok and Moon Sang-hoon creating unique subjective dishes without a set menu. Each week, a new guest will appear as a customer. Choi Kang-rok and Moon Sang-hoon will prepare a one-of-a-kind dish for the guest and engage in deep conversations related to the menu. The show is directed by PD Chae Song-yi from TEO, a production company founded by PD Kim Tae-ho.
Starting on the 23rd, every Sunday will feature ‘Driver: Finding the Lost Screw’, where laughter-makers reunite. Expectations are high with the reunion of PD Park In-seok from ‘Hong Kim Dong-jeon’ and the fantastic five siblings Kim Sook, Hong Jin-kyung, Jo Se-ho, Joo Woo-jae, and Jang Woo-young. ‘Driver: Finding the Lost Screw’ is a ‘new concept’ character variety show where the top 1% of comedic talents assemble the joys and sorrows of life without screws. Each week, episodes filled with unexpected and intense moments will unfold, covering games, costumes, penalties, travel, eating shows, and talk segments.
Starting on the 24th, every Monday will feature ‘Dongmi-sae: The Freshman Obsessed with Clubs’, where the reliable talker Defconn explores various clubs. ‘Dongmi-sae: The Freshman Obsessed with Clubs’ is a club experience project where Defconn, a freshman obsessed with clubs, meets seasoned members of different clubs each week. The show will explore various hobbies and the diverse charms of people involved in different clubs. PD Kim Jae-won from the ‘Single’s Inferno’ series is in charge of planning, while PD Park Soo-ji and writer Lee Jeong-hwa from ‘Single’s Inferno’ collaborate on the project.
Starting on the 26th, every Wednesday will feature Choo Sung-hoon’s talk show ‘Churai Churai’. ‘Churai Churai’ is a talk show where the unfiltered Choo Sung-hoon explores guests in his own style. With his raw and genuine charm, Choo Sung-hoon will engage in heartwarming conversations with various guests, providing delightful laughter and empathy.
In particular, Choo Sung-hoon plans to explore the bucket lists that guests have always wanted to try, creating a special talk show in his own style. Comedian Lee Chang-ho will join to enhance the chemistry with the guests. Produced by Kakao Entertainment, the show is directed by PD Kwon Dae-hyun, who previously unearthed the hidden charms of various stars in ‘Truth or Setting: Elegant Life’.
Starting on the 27th, every Thursday will feature ‘Crazy Gourmet: Gourmet Friend’s Favorite Restaurants’.
‘Crazy Gourmet: Gourmet Friend’s Favorite Restaurants’ is a gourmet talk travel variety show where gourmet friends explore restaurants. It features top gourmet figures Sung Si-kyung from Korea and Matsushige Yutaka from ‘The Lonely Gourmet’. Exciting and lively gourmet talks and experiences are expected to unfold across Korea, Japan, and a third country.
The delightful chemistry between the gourmet-loving Sung Si-kyung and Matsushige Yutaka, along with in-depth gourmet discussions, is anticipated to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience. PD Kim In-sik from ‘Sung + Character’ and ‘Korea Number One’ is in charge of directing.
