As claims have emerged that the late weathercaster Oh Yoanna suffered workplace bullying during her time at MBC, her family has filed a civil lawsuit.

According to KBS on the 28th, Oh Yoanna's family collected phone call records and KakaoTalk conversations and filed a civil lawsuit against her colleagues in December of last year.

The family stated to KBS, "We wanted to go back to that moment and stop the pain. We hope that violence using a superior position in the workplace or such unfortunate events do not happen again."

The late Oh Yoanna passed away in September of last year. The cause of death was not disclosed at that time.

On the 27th, Maeil Newspaper reported, "A 2,750-character will, equivalent to 17 pages of manuscript paper, was found on Oh Yoanna's phone after the password was unlocked," adding, "The will contained complaints about workplace bullying from two specific weathercasters."

This raised suspicions of workplace bullying, and MBC stated on the 28th, "The deceased never reported her grievances (including workplace bullying) to the responsible departments (Human Resources Team of the Management Support Department, Clean Center of the Audit Department) or to the managers she worked with while freelancing," and added, "If she had officially reported her grievances to the company or even informed responsible managers of her suffering, the company would have naturally conducted a proper investigation."

They continued, "MBC does not currently have the will that has recently been confirmed. If the family requests verification of the facts based on the newly discovered will, MBC is prepared to commence an investigation as soon as possible."

The deceased passed the MBC weathercaster exam in May 2021 and gained recognition by appearing on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' in 2022.
