Actor Kim Min-hee (42), who has been living with director Hong Sang-soo (64) for nine years, is reportedly expecting to give birth to a child this spring, while Hong's wife, Ms. A, reacted by saying, "I had no idea at all."
Ms. A, Hong's wife, told entertainment media K-Star News on the 17th, "I had no knowledge of (Kim Min-hee's) pregnancy at all."
According to entertainment media Dispatch, Kim Min-hee naturally conceived Hong's child last summer. Despite the surrounding scrutiny, Hong confirmed the pregnancy and underwent tests and check-ups with Kim Min-hee, and the two were spotted together at a gynecologist's office on the 15th.
Hong, who married in 1985 and has a daughter, is still legally married to Ms. A.
In November 2016, Hong filed for divorce against Ms. A, but the Seoul Family Court dismissed the case in 2019. Hong did not appeal the decision. Instead, through a law firm, he emphasized that "the fact that the marital relationship has completely ended remains unchanged," and stated, "When social conditions are met, I intend to seek confirmation from the court again," leaving open the possibility of filing another lawsuit in the future.
