The recent updates on Seungri, a former member of Big Bang who served time due to the Burning Sun scandal, have been revealed.
Recently, Seungri's appearance was shared on various online communities. The released video shows Seungri dressed in a suit. Unlike his previously slim figure, he appears to have gained quite a bit of weight, drawing attention. The author added, “I earn more (money) than GD.”
Seungri debuted in 2006 as a member of Big Bang under YG Entertainment and received great love. However, in 2019, he was identified as a key figure in the so-called “Burning Sun scandal” and left the team in disgrace.
At that time, Seungri was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison for a total of 9 charges, including violation of the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, prostitution mediation, habitual gambling, violation of the Foreign Exchange Transaction Act, violation of the Food Sanitation Act, embezzlement in the course of business, violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement), and instigation of special assault. He was released after completing his sentence on February 9 of last year at the Gyeonggi Yeoju Correctional Institution.
In January, he attended a private party at a club in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where he drew criticism for saying, “I will bring GD here someday,” encouraging a response. Additionally, in August, it was reported that Seungri would attend an event called “Burning Sun Surabaya” in Indonesia as a guest. In response to the controversy, Seungri's side stated that the event organizers had misused his name and photos, expressing their intention to take legal action.
