‘K-pop's top group’ SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, Dokyeom, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) is returning next month with a new album.
On the 21st, SEVENTEEN posted a video on their official SNS at 10 PM containing their major plans for this year. According to the video, SEVENTEEN will release their regular 5th album ‘HAPPY BURSTDAY’ on May 26. They also hinted at a tour, a new unit's single album, and new content, raising expectations for a variety of activities this year.
This will be SEVENTEEN's first regular album in about three years since ‘Face the Sun’ in 2022. ‘HAPPY BURSTDAY’ is a combination of the English word ‘Birthday,’ which means birthday, and ‘Burst,’ which means to explode. The agency Pledis Entertainment explained that the album name embodies their determination to be reborn as a ‘new SEVENTEEN’.

The new release will be significant as it is set to be released on the 10th anniversary of SEVENTEEN's debut. Since their debut on May 26, 2015, they have continued to thrive through challenges and expansions. They have shown the ideal qualities expected of K-pop artists, such as a passion for moving into a broader world, a bold spirit that does not fear change, strong teamwork, and a deep bond with their fans, establishing themselves as ‘Super IDOLs’.
Their unique promotional methods are also eye-catching. SEVENTEEN previously displayed the phrase ‘2025. 05. 26. HAPPY BIRTHDAY’ on a billboard immediately after the fan meeting in March. They also released a video on SNS featuring a burnt invitation, sparking fans' curiosity. In the video, the invitation unfolds, revealing SEVENTEEN's schedule.
Pledis Entertainment stated, “In celebration of their 10th debut anniversary this year, SEVENTEEN plans to meet CARATs (the fandom name) around the world with their regular 5th album and various content and stages,” and added, “We ask for your great expectations and interest in their upcoming activities.”
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN is preparing for a fan meeting in Japan. The members will hold the ‘SEVENTEEN 2025 JAPAN FAN MEETING ‘HOLIDAY’’ at Kyocera Dome Osaka on the 24th and 26-27th, and at Saitama Super Arena on May 10-11.
