Actor Kim Soo-hyun has finally pulled out the legal card. In a tearful statement at a press conference, he said, "I will not be swayed by fake evidence and false testimonies," and simultaneously filed a lawsuit for damages amounting to 12 billion won and a criminal complaint against the family of the late Kim Sae-ron.
On the afternoon of the 31st, Kim Soo-hyun held an emergency press conference at the Stanford Hotel in Sangam, Seoul, stating, "I will accept the criticism for what I have done. However, I cannot take on accusations for things I did not do," showing a firm attitude.
He continued, "I am afraid of what lies will be thrown at me today. I can no longer remain silent in the face of distortions that portray me as a murderer."
He refuted the evidence photos and content of the relationship disclosed by the family, stating, "The entirety of our relationship was about a year after I became an adult," and added, "The claim that we dated during my minor years is completely unfounded, and I did not exert any pressure."
In particular, Kim Soo-hyun strongly requested, "If the claims of the family are true, let’s submit all materials to the investigative agency and follow the formal procedures. Please do not make falsehoods appear as facts."
Kim Soo-hyun's legal representative, lawyer Kim Jong-bok, stated, "We have filed a criminal complaint against the family, an unidentified person claiming to be an aunt, and the operator of the YouTube channel 'Gaseyeon' for defamation and dissemination of false information under the Information and Communications Network Act, and simultaneously filed a civil lawsuit for 12 billion won in damages."
Although there were no questions and answers at the press conference, Kim Soo-hyun's remarks were sharper than anyone else's.
He conveyed, "This situation is causing pain to my family and loved ones. Before I am a celebrity, as a human Kim Soo-hyun, I can no longer remain silent in front of them."
