The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pil-ho) announced on the 28th that singer and musical actor Kim Junsu has donated 100 million won to support neighbors affected by the large wildfire.
The donation will be used for practical recovery activities such as emergency livelihood support, provision of relief supplies, and operation of shelters for residents in wildfire-affected areas including Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam.
Kim Junsu stated, "I felt uneasy seeing the wildfire spreading through the news," and added, "I quietly contributed with the hope that it would help those affected recover their daily lives as quickly as possible."
Through this donation, Kim Junsu has been appointed as a member of the 'Hope Bridge Honors Club,' a group of high-value individual donors, and has pledged to pay more attention to supporting disaster-affected neighbors and vulnerable groups in the future.
Hope Bridge Secretary-General Shin Hoon expressed gratitude for Kim Junsu's deep generosity, stating, "We will do our best to ensure that his warm heart is well delivered to the affected neighbors with a sense of responsibility."
Meanwhile, Hope Bridge is currently providing over 420,000 relief items, including relief kits, shelter partitions, blankets, daily necessities, bottled water, and food to the wildfire-affected areas, and is continuing various on-site relief activities, including laundry support at shelters. Additionally, meal support for firefighters and on-site response teams is also underway.
The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association is a disaster relief fundraising organization established in 1961 by media outlets and social organizations across the country. Its main activities include emergency disaster relief, fundraising and distribution of public donations, community recovery after disasters, and support for vulnerable groups affected by disasters. To date, it has provided 1.6 trillion won in donations and over 60 million relief items.
