Singer and actress IU has also stepped up to support wildfire victims.
The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pil-ho) announced on the 26th that singer and actress IU (Lee Ji-eun) donated 100 million won each for wildfire victim support and improving the treatment and awareness of firefighters dedicated to disaster sites, totaling 200 million won.
IU stated, "I hope this small help reaches those affected, and I express my deep condolences to the victims," adding, "I sincerely hope that the wildfire is extinguished quickly without further loss of life." She continued, "I deeply appreciate the dedication of the firefighters who are working hard to extinguish the fire."
IU has previously participated in donations during various disasters, such as helping neighbors during the 2020 flood and the 2022 East Coast wildfire, demonstrating her positive influence.
Shin Hoon, Secretary-General of Hope Bridge, stated, "IU's donation embodies a deep solidarity with neighbors and gratitude towards those working hard in unseen places," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that this precious intention is fully delivered to the affected areas and sites."
