The late Seo Hee-won has peacefully passed away with the farewell of family and close friends. Her husband, Gu Jun-yeop, shed tears as he said his final goodbye to his wife, looking frail and having lost 6kg.
On the 15th, Taiwanese media reported that the late Seo Hee-won held a farewell ceremony on the 13th and was laid to rest through a tree burial on the 14th. A close friend of the deceased, Jia Yongjie, stated that the farewell ceremony was conducted quietly and privately according to the family's wishes.
The farewell ceremony took place at Seo Hee-won's home where she lived. As piano music played, family and close friends shared champagne and reminisced about memories of her life. The bereaved family bid their final farewell in a warm atmosphere while looking at photos of the deceased.

On that day, Gu Jun-yeop appeared noticeably weakened. According to local media, he had lost more than 6kg since Seo Hee-won's passing, and his once muscular body seemed frail. Throughout the farewell ceremony, Gu Jun-yeop could not contain his sorrow and quietly sent his wife off while holding back tears.
The late Seo Hee-won's younger sister, Seo Hee-je, also appeared to have lost a significant amount of weight, seemingly in shock from her sister's sudden departure, according to local media.
Seo Hee-won married Chinese conglomerate heir Wang Shao-bi in 2011 and had one son and one daughter, but they divorced after 10 years of marriage in 2021. She later reunited with her former lover Gu Jun-yeop, announcing their marriage in March 2022, receiving much blessing. However, just three years after their marriage, she suddenly passed away from acute pneumonia during a trip to Japan on the 2nd, at the age of 48.
After his wife's death, Gu Jun-yeop expressed his feelings, saying, “My angel has returned to heaven,” and “I am experiencing an indescribable sadness and pain that feels like my insides are being torn apart.” He added, “The time I spent with Hee-won was a precious gift that I would not trade for anything in the world,” and “My last duty is to protect Hee-won's family.”
Seo Hee-won's remains were buried in a tree burial as she had wished during her lifetime. The bereaved family decided to quietly follow the deceased's wishes without disclosing the date and location.
