Director and actor Yang Ik-jun has been accused of assaulting a junior.
On the 10th, the Seongbuk Police Station in Seoul announced that they are investigating Yang Ik-jun on assault charges.
According to the police, Yang Ik-jun is accused of hitting a junior film staff member, referred to as A, multiple times with a bundle of paper and verbally abusing him at a bar he operates in Seongbuk-gu on December 13 of last year.
A police official stated that the complaint was filed on December 30 of last year, adding, "The investigation is in its final stages. We plan to forward it to the prosecution today or tomorrow."
Yang Ik-jun made his feature film debut in 2009 with 'Ddongpari,' where he served as director, screenwriter, and lead actor, winning over 40 trophies at domestic and international film festivals, including the Rotterdam International Film Festival. He has since appeared in numerous works and continued his acting career.
His film 'Confession,' in which he stars, is set to be released on the 19th.
