Park Eun-ji (42), a former MBC weathercaster and broadcaster, expressed her sorrow and conviction regarding the workplace bullying allegations surrounding the late Oh Yoo-anna.

On the 1st, Park shared a screenshot of an article related to the deceased's death on her social media, stating, "As a former MBC weathercaster, my heart is very heavy. Although I have never met her, I hope she is not suffering now. I offer my condolences to the deceased."

She continued, "I know how terrifying and lonely that pain can be, having endured those harsh seven years myself. I am so sorry I couldn't be of help."

Additionally, Park stated, "The deeply rooted culture of workplace bullying must be fully revealed," expressing her stance on the issue of workplace bullying.

Park Eun-ji joined MBC as a public weathercaster in 2005 and worked as a "leading weathercaster." After concluding her seven-year tenure in 2012, she transitioned to freelancing and has been active in various fields, including entertainment and drama. She married a Korean-American office worker in 2018 and currently resides in the United States.

Oh Yoo-anna, who was 16 years younger than Park Eun-ji, joined MBC as a public weathercaster in 2021 and presented weekday and weekend weather news. She gained attention after appearing on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block" in 2022. Unfortunately, she passed away suddenly in September of last year, and the news of her death was only revealed three months later.

Recently, as the late Oh's phone password was unlocked, a 17-page handwritten letter was discovered, reportedly detailing her experiences of workplace bullying. Notably, the letter included recordings indicating that Oh had informed MBC officials about her suffering before her death. In response, her family raised allegations of workplace bullying and filed a lawsuit for damages against her colleagues at the Seoul Central District Court on the 23rd of last month.

Initially, MBC remained silent regarding the workplace bullying allegations against Oh Yoo-anna. However, as criticism mounted, they stated, "The deceased never reported her grievances to the responsible department or the managers she worked with while freelancing. If she had officially reported her grievances to the company or even informed responsible managers about her suffering, the company would have conducted a proper investigation."

Subsequently, on the 1st, MBC announced that they had formed a fact-finding committee, chaired by an external expert, to investigate the cause and truth behind Oh Yoo-anna's death. MBC stated, "The investigation by the fact-finding committee will officially begin next week after preliminary preparations over the weekend. MBC has been conducting its own internal investigation since the allegations surrounding the deceased's death arose and plans to provide all preliminary investigation materials to the committee to support a smooth and swift clarification of the truth."
