Actress Kim Min-hee (42) is reported to be pregnant with the child of director Hong Sang-soo (64), with whom she has been in a de facto relationship for '9 years'.
On the 17th, Dispatch reported that Kim Min-hee is six months pregnant with Hong Sang-soo's child and is expected to give birth this spring.
Kim Min-hee and Hong Sang-soo visited a hospital together for a regular obstetric check-up on the 15th to welcome the new year, and it is said that Hong Sang-soo has been taking care of Kim Min-hee, accompanying her for pregnancy confirmation, tests, and check-ups.
Currently, director Hong Sang-soo has moved out of his home in Apgujeong, Seoul, where he lived with his wife, and has acquired a new house in Hanam, where Kim Min-hee's parents reside. Meanwhile, director Hong Sang-soo married a woman of the same age, referred to as A, during his studies in the United States in 1985, and they have a daughter together. However, he became embroiled in dating rumors with Kim Min-hee in 2016. They developed a romantic relationship while working together on the film 'Right Now, Wrong Then', which was released in 2015. Hong Sang-soo filed for divorce mediation against A in 2016, but it was unsuccessful as A effectively refused to accept the related documents. The following year, he acknowledged his relationship with Kim Min-hee and has been living as an affair couple for nine years.
Subsequently, director Hong Sang-soo filed for divorce, but the court dismissed the case in 2019, determining that the primary responsibility for the breakdown of the marriage lay with Hong Sang-soo, meaning he is still legally married to his ex-wife.
Kim Min-hee has not appeared in any other works due to her affair with director Hong Sang-soo, who is '22 years older' than her.
