Actress Song Hye-kyo's appearance on the tvN entertainment program 'You Quiz on the Block' (hereafter 'You Quiz') has been canceled on the 1st in solidarity with the mourning for the Jeju Air passenger plane tragedy.
The 'You Quiz' team stated, "The 275th episode, which was scheduled to air on the 1st, has been canceled and will return to viewers next week." According to the schedule, the movie 'Count' has been arranged for the time slot of 'You Quiz'.
Song Hye-kyo was set to appear on 'You Quiz' to promote her upcoming film 'The Black Nuns' (directed by Kwon Hyuk-jae) on the 24th, showcasing her entertainment skills as well. Notably, it would have been her first variety show appearance in 17 years since 'She's Olive - Song Hye-kyo in Paris' aired in 2007.
Meanwhile, on the 29th at around 9:03 AM, a Jeju Air passenger plane from Bangkok, Thailand, attempted to land at Muan International Airport but collided with the runway's outer wall, resulting in a fire and the tragic death of 179 people.
The government has declared Muan in Jeollanam-do a special disaster area and designated a national mourning period for seven days until January 4 of next year. As a result, the entertainment industry is participating in the mourning by postponing official events such as year-end award ceremonies, concerts, and meet-and-greets, as well as delaying the upload of YouTube content.
