In the MBC current affairs program ‘100 Minutes Debate’, we will forecast the outcome of President Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment verdict.
The Constitutional Court will decide on the removal or reinstatement of President Yoon Seok-yeol at 11 AM on the 4th. The impeachment ruling comes 111 days after President Yoon was impeached on December 14 of last year. It is also 38 days since the Constitutional Court concluded the hearings on February 25 and began deliberations among the justices.
The ruling on the impeachment case, which will be delivered three days later, is expected to mark a turning point as the accumulated conflicts over impeachment enter a new phase. Both the ruling and opposition parties, which have been calling for a swift ruling, have expressed conflicting expectations of “expecting dismissal” and “confident of removal” as soon as the date of the ruling was announced.
Hundreds of thousands from both pro and anti-impeachment camps are preparing to gather in downtown Seoul on the day of the ruling to amplify their voices towards the Constitutional Court. Regardless of which way the court concludes, the aftermath is bound to be significant. What will be the conclusion of the Constitutional Court, which has been deliberating for over a month? Will the decision, after the longest deliberation period, serve as a cornerstone to resolve the extreme divisions and conflicts?
In the ‘100 Minutes Debate’ airing at 11:20 PM on the 1st, titled ‘Constitutional Court, Ruling on the 4th.. What is Yoon's Fate?’, we will discuss the expected outcome of President Yoon's impeachment trial and its political and social repercussions. Participants include Kim Sang-wook from the People Power Party, Lee Eon-joo from the Democratic Party, Shin Jang-sik from the Justice Party, and Lee Jun-seok from the Reform Party.
