Hwang Min-hyun from ‘Study Group’ begins a fight to study.
Today (23rd), just before the first release of the Tving original ‘Study Group’ (directed by Lee Jang-hoon and Yoo Beom-sang, written by Um Seon-ho and Oh Bo-hyun, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Y Lab Plex, provided by Tving), we captured Yoon Ga-min (played by Hwang Min-hyun) as he recruits members for the study group. The presence of Lee Han-gyeong (played by Han Ji-eun), who hints at a challenging school life from the first day of her appointment, and the top-ranked student of Yuseong Technical High School, Pi Han-ul (played by Cha Woo-min), along with Kim Se-hyun (played by Lee Jong-hyun), who is marked as the first member of the study group, adds to the anticipation for Yoon Ga-min's spectacular formation of the study group.
‘Study Group’ is based on the popular webtoon of the same name (written by Shin Hyung-wook, illustrated by Yoo Seung-yeon, produced by Y Lab), and it is a comedic high school action story about Yoon Ga-min, who wants to study well but has all his talent focused on fighting, diving into a bloody entrance exam at the worst school and forming a ‘study group’. The story of ‘strength hidden in weakness’ Yoon Ga-min, who chooses to fight to study, along with students who each have their own stories trying to protect the study group, is expected to provide catharsis with thrilling action. Director Lee Jang-hoon, known for films like ‘Miracle’ and ‘I’m Coming to See You Now’, collaborates with writers Um Seon-ho and Oh Bo-hyun to create a unique comedic high school action drama. There is also high anticipation for the performances of a cast of vibrant young actors, including Hwang Min-hyun, Han Ji-eun, Cha Woo-min, Lee Jong-hyun, Shin Soo-hyun, Yoon Sang-jeong, and Gong Do-yu.
The photos released today show Yoon Ga-min searching for study group members, raising curiosity about episodes 1 and 2. The criteria he set for recruiting members is the look of someone who wants to study. Yoon Ga-min, who proposes joining the study group to the first potential member (?) Kim Se-hyun, whom he discovered in the fierce hierarchy of Yuseong Technical High School, appears more excited than ever. However, Yoon Ga-min soon faces a harsh reality. The photos that follow show Pi Han-ul receiving an award on stage with a relaxed demeanor, while Yoon Ga-min looks on with a worried expression at the seemingly intimidated Kim Se-hyun. It raises questions about the dark shadow surrounding Yuseong Technical High School that Yoon Ga-min has sensed while persistently pursuing Kim Se-hyun.
The survival struggle of Yoon Ga-min and Lee Han-gyeong at Yuseong Technical High School also catches the eye. Lee Han-gyeong, who has been appointed as a temporary teacher at Yuseong Technical High School, appears bewildered in front of a messy blackboard after a thrilling first greeting. A surprising transformation of Yoon Ga-min, who has erased his innocent face, is also captured. Despite blood flowing from his forehead, Yoon Ga-min stares coldly at his opponent. There is growing curiosity about what incidents they will face at Yuseong Technical High School, which is known as the worst school in the universe.
The points of interest shared by the actors also ignite excitement. Han Ji-eun said, “Every work has good and evil. ‘Study Group’ is portrayed with a bit more goodness and is depicted in a cheerful manner. It is a work where everyone grows because of that.
