The medalist duo Oh Sang-wook and Kwak Yoon-ki triggered Kim Dae-ho's anger.
In the MBC entertainment program ‘Pook Da Haeng’ aired on the 13th, active sports players Oh Sang-wook and Kwak Yoon-ki appeared as workers for the first time. Kim Dae-ho, Park Jun-hyung, and chef Jung Ho-young challenged the operation of a 0.5-star deserted island with these two, while in the studio, ‘CEO An’ Ahn Jung-hwan, Boom, Choi Ye-na, and announcer Oh Seung-hoon watched them.
Contrary to everyone's expectations, the clumsy antics of Oh Sang-wook and Kwak Yoon-ki, who made mistakes at every turn, captivated the viewers. According to the ratings agency Nielsen Korea, the broadcast recorded a nationwide rating of 5.2%, the highest among all entertainment programs aired on Monday, maintaining its position as the strongest Monday entertainment show.
From the moment they arrived on the island, Oh Sang-wook and Kwak Yoon-ki were met with high expectations. They confidently claimed they would excel in sea urchin hunting, showcasing their excellent dynamic vision, exceptional physical conditions, and specialized skills in thrusting. However, the boat carrying them arrived at a different island, not the 0.5-star deserted island. This was actually the second candidate site marked by ‘CEO An’. Unlike the first site reminiscent of Santorini, the second candidate site, with its lush forest view, evoked the feeling of Ubud in Bali, attracting attention.
Additionally, the second candidate site was a place where natural people lived, which was a significant advantage as it had access to water and electricity. Moreover, there were wild chickens living all over the island. The village chief who introduced the island told the workers that they could catch the chickens, and everyone was excited about the fact that they could eat meat for the first time on ‘Pook Da Haeng’.
However, the war with the wild chickens was not easy. The chickens, which were at home on the island, easily escaped even when five strong men chased after them. Although Park Jun-hyung managed to catch one, Oh Sang-wook made a huge mistake by letting it go while holding it. However, driven by his competitive spirit, Oh Sang-wook quickly recovered from his mistake by stealthily timing his move like in a fencing match and snatching the chicken with quick reflexes.
The group returned with the chicken and filled their stomachs with chicken stew made in a cauldron, and they challenged themselves to catch materials for their guests by throwing traps and hunting for sea urchins. First, Kwak Yoon-ki, who went for trap throwing, frustrated everyone by not securing the bait in the trap and not fully spreading it out. Seeing this, Oh Sang-wook, who was laughing heartily, made an even bigger mistake by letting go of the trap.
Watching the two make mistake after mistake, Kim Dae-ho eventually exploded. Announcer Oh Seung-hoon, who is close to Kim Dae-ho, expressed surprise, saying, “This is the first time I’ve seen Kim Dae-ho get angry.” Additionally, as a licensed lawyer, he humorously provided legal advice in response to Ahn Jung-hwan's question about whether it was possible to claim damages for causing losses on a 0.5-star deserted island, saying, “You can claim compensation,” which made everyone burst into laughter.
Oh Sang-wook and Kwak Yoon-ki, claiming, “We are confident in physical tasks,” tried to make up for their mistakes in trap throwing with sea urchin hunting. However, Oh Sang-wook made a blunder by dropping the bucket containing the seafood. To recover from this, everyone worked harder, and in the end, veteran Park Jun-hyung caught a large octopus, fortunately bringing in a bountiful supply of ingredients.
The chicken caught in the morning, the octopus caught by Park Jun-hyung, and the flatfish caught by Kim Dae-ho early in the sea urchin hunt. Considering the accidents caused by Oh Sang-wook and Kwak Yoon-ki, they managed to catch quite a lot of ingredients. Jung Ho-young used these to prepare ‘Karaage’, ‘Flatfish & Scallop Salad’, and ‘Sea God Soup’ for dinner. At this time, Oh Sang-wook, who was in charge of cleaning the flatfish, showed a different level of concentration while holding the knife and did his part. With Jung Ho-young's cooking skills added, they were able to impress the guests and successfully wrap up the first day.
Meanwhile, the preview released at the end of the broadcast depicted Oh Sang-wook struggling to escape the dishonor of being called ‘clumsy hands’, sparking curiosity. MBC’s ‘Pook Da Haeng’ airs every Monday at 9 PM.
