Stephanie, a former member of the group Chanson, showcased her skills by advancing to the third round of 'King of Mask Singer'.
In the episode aired on the 22nd, the identity of the masked singer 'Pumpkin Sweet Potato' was revealed. It was none other than Stephanie from Chanson.
Stephanie captivated both the live audience and viewers at home with her powerful live performances, showcasing her unique style that differed from the original songs in each round.
In the first battle, Stephanie faced Chef Jang Ho-jun, who appeared wearing the 'Do You Know the Taste of Gae?' mask, and chose to perform 'How Did We Meet?' delivering an emotional stage. Her voice, which preserved the essence of the original while adding her unique touch, left a deep impression, and with her stable high notes and explosive vocal power, she secured victory in the first round.
In the second round, Stephanie performed 'Adult Child' by Gummy. She dominated the stage with even more groove and emotional expression, reconstructing 'Adult Child' with a powerful yet soft touch. Delivering a different feeling from the original, Stephanie defeated the masked singer 'Shall We Walk Together?' and advanced to the third round.
In the third round, Stephanie chose 'Magic Carpet Ride' by Jaurim and once again captured the audience's hearts. Unlike the first and second rounds, Stephanie showcased a refreshing live performance and, after a fierce battle with 'More Fragrance than Flowers', left with the regret of elimination.
After revealing her identity, Stephanie said, "I don't know how many decades it's been since I stood here singing. I arranged everything to show my vocal skills without regrets. I joined SM as a vocalist at 16, but because my name was Cheonmu Stephanie, I couldn't outshine the dance. At that time, I choreographed all the solo parts for Chanson. I was the only female artist that SM allowed to do that. Afterward, I taught choreography to Girls' Generation and SM trainees," she revealed.
She also shared, "I received a call from a ballet company at the youngest age of 15 and prepared for auditions, but I first passed the SM audition and have continued ballet until now. Although I am older in the current scene, I am still active. Since I have been doing what I love for a long time, I want to teach and pass on what I have learned to aspiring talents and promising individuals in the future."
Meanwhile, Stephanie will participate as part of the production team for the 'Stage Fighter Gala Show THE ORIGINALS' to be held on December 25 at Songdo Convensia in Incheon, and will join the national tour schedule.
